Hi Folks,

I'm getting a constant clicking sound when I drive in first gear. As soon as I change to 2nd, it disappears.
My mechanic mate (who knows nothing about scoobs) thinks its the 1st gear cog thats gone and the gearbox needs to come out and the cog replaced. Does this seem like the most probable cause? If so what am I looking at cost wise?
Car is an STi3. MY97.

any help greatly appreciated

Thumbs up

the simple answer is i took it apart and changed the offending cog

only costs was having the new cog pressed onto the shaft, and new gearbox oil oh, and having a very kind scoobynetter with a spare cog lying around
