In the wrong topic box I know, but I really think you regulars have to know this...could save a bunch of us money..

Admiral online - Add a girl AFTER getting a quote online* and it goes down (add my sister as a 2nd driver - £200 for me). Then ring and complain your credit card details aren't going through (but don't ring for a phone quote cos it's more expensive from first contact for a quote).I went from £2888 to £977 fully comp - parked on the street in central London, 5yr NC, 29yrs old, 6 points SP30 99. Pretty good I think.

*add it before and the online online is more!

 

Sounds like a great quote...especially considering most insurers rate London quite a bit higher than the rest of the country ...

I think there is a skill to manipulating insurance company online quotes - such things as estimated mileage - if I enter 5k it is £250 cheaper online than stating 8k - but if I accept 5k estimated and then do 8k in the year it's ok as it's only estimated not limited, so why state 8k from the outset?

Just shows how these companies are ripping us off eh!

 

I agree! did some quotes online, i had a claim 7 months ago, did a quote without a claim, then with the claim, then with a claim at a diffrent repair cost to the one before. the barstewards put the quote up by the cost of the repair in each case on top of the original quote! robbers! the mileage thing works! do that with mine, 2/3rds way through the year phone em and tell em you think your going to do more than you thought, they just o.k it and you have cleared yourself if any claims come later!
