MY02 WRX and have a ITG air filter and reading some of the posts (causing possible damage) I am considering going back to the standard filter. Should I do it or is the ITG ok?

Cheers
Mark

Thumbs up

The ITG filter is (IMHO) one of the better ones and is perfectly safe in your '02 WRX.

I too have the ITG fitted to my '02 WRX

Thumbs down

Oh do you think so.....!!

Sure the MAF sensor on the MYO2 is less sensitive than that on my my99 but on MAF no2 in a matter of weeks and the old idling and rough running probs re-occurred, so I though I better clean the MAF and what did I find..........???

Oh yes, the green gunk from the ITG filter ALL over it.

Now cleaned and now running sweet, oh, and back to standard filter for me.

Go for a K&N induction kit if you like the noise if not then go for the K&N panel filter instead of the ITG.

Unhappy

IMHO any filter that soaked in oil is going to be bad news, my ITG is in the bin after only a month, when I ckecked it there was goo all over the inside of the box. The benifits from these things are tiny anyway, not worth the risk in my opinion.
