Had an import ST/b for a while after a MY97 Impreza Turbo, an Impreza it's not! Yes it's got loads of room, goes well and for a, what do they call it? an SUV? it handles well but I could not live with it after the Impreza and so ended up with an Impreza Wagon which I love. Also the wife did not like it so it had to go......

My brother bought one earliier in the year and thinks its wonderful. Agreed not as good a fast road car as an Impreza but more practical from his point of view but still pretty quick without actually looking it.

I have had 2 in the past three years and I can recommend them. I recently traded mine in for an Impreza WRX 5 door (shooting brake). I find the prezza a bit strange after all these years in a quasi estate car but hell its fast in comparison, but the Forester was no slouch. In my old and tender years I am finding the prezza a bit too nippy for my liking so I am thinking of trading in for the new Forester when its out. I will lose buckets of money I know but the experience of owning the definative rally car for the road will have been worth it.......Blutes

Then again I may part ex the Maxi and keep the prezza as a "classic"

We bought one about 3 weeks ago. I've got it for the Mrs and the new baby really, but so far I've been the main driver. Personal opinion so far is excellent. The handling has suprised me the most it can really corner. Its great fun and so practical.

Saying all that I miss my STI 5

so much, I can wait until my replacement copmes along.

Had my import Forester T/tb for nine months now. It replaced a Legacy turbo. No, it's not an Impreza, but 260bhp is quick enough and it's got the load space I need and no sill. There are lots of mods that can be done and servicing is no problem. A major plus point for me was that the import does not have the usual black, oppressive Subaru interior and it's a very understated car, does not attract attention, which I prefer.
Personal choice in the end !

Here's my baby - hope this picture upload works...

Mods so far are 17" MIM with 215/50 T1s. 4 pot brakes with EBC greens and discs. ITG filter and Scoobysport box. 21mm rear ARB.

Speed wise it does 0-60 in 6.34 and 0-100 in 18.14 secs.

As Brian says, they are a Q car and they do actually go soft-road.
