I'D JUST LIKE TO SAY MONEY IS NOT THE SUBJECT HERE (Otherwise I wouldn't have a Scoob), IT'S THE PRINCIPLE.
MY Sep01 WRX coming up for its first annual corrosion treatment. Got quoted £135 pounds. FFS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Servicing costs I can understand, but £135 for this, tell me I'm being ripped off.
In view of this (and I wasn't in any way rude to the guy the other end of the phone) I asked whether they were prepared to throw in a a couple of stone chip repairs for nothing. I may as well have p*ssed into a force 11 hurricane.
Now before anyone says to me repair the chips myself you need to understand that I'm the kind of person that couldn't draw a straight line with a ruler, more fool me I suppose.
Any views please on whether costs (over 5 years) vs not retaining corrosion warranty is worth it ?
Any views on somewhere I can get it done cheaper and stamped by Subaru ? Or somewhere that may be willing to consider the chip repairs into the bargain?
Anywhere SE, i.e. Essex, Kent, Suffolk, North London, Herts, Bucks. I'd willingly spend more in petrol getting this done than lining Subaru's pockets yet again.
I don't wish to knock a fantastic car, but prior to this I had 4 Primera's, the last one a GT. Nissan may not be in the same performance league (though the GT was untouchable in its direct peer group IMHO), but after sales, servicing, repairs, in fact the whole support package put Subaru to shame.
One very hacked off SE Essex boy !!!!!!!!!!!!

The body services (as we like to call them
) have more than one purpose, the main one being is to repair/replace any of the underseal that comes off (as the cars are not undersealed from the factory) and the second is to fill the rest of the gaps with wax to keep it smelling nice ![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
is it worth it?
for peice of mind then id say yes as we all know how cr@p subaru paint is
but its very rare that any car nowerdays gets rusty before its 8 years old (unless its been doing some really dodgy off roading).

My dealer did it for free, a great way to keep my business for future services. £135 seems a bit steep, the cost is usually around £90.
I did however buy the car from them and they provide very competitive pricing for servicing etc.

Thanks 4 the replies u 2 - any more views from anyone would be appreciated.
I also bought car from the same main dealer that quoted me the £135. - There must be another in the SE that isn't such a moneygrabber - again money no issue for me - just the principle
