I have just had my00 2.0GL in for its 30k service (£340). When having a look under the bonnet to see what work had been done i noticed a pool of oil on the sump guard under the filler cap. Could this be spilt oil or a rocker cover gasket/bolt seal(oil smelt clean as if spilt). I have wiped the oil off the sump guard and will check in the morning for fresh oil.

I would think it is oil that was spilt during the fill up process.
