Your way over with a mileage like that mate - I would grudge giving you anywhere near £6k for a car that old with that mileage -even if it does have the masters name on it.Sorry to be negative just mho. Looking for a car at the moment but can't get over how much people are looking for, especially in today's market of over supply of cars and especially when they've got terrible mileages on them.

rant over

Question

I'm not sure how many Imprezas you've been and looked at but, and correct me if i'm wrong, you'll struggle to find a decent car for less than 6K.

Imports can be had for this price with low miles and little or no history, and if your prepared to take the (potential) risk can be a good buy, but if you want a good UK car then prices are generally higher. If your horrified by the price of Imprezas then take a look at the price of their rivals, Cosworth/Integrale/GT4 etc, you'll find that a car of the same sort of age will be a good few grand higher at least. For 6K your looking at a 90,000 mile Sapphire Cosworth on a H or if your lucky J, this is assuming of course that your after a good quality car and not simply the cheapest available.

Your right that 93K is a high mileage, but as all the price guides tell you, condition is more important than mileage, especially in these kinds of car which are reguraly seen with well over 100K on the clock and still going strong. If you look at a classic car you don't look at mileage do you, you look at condition so why should this be any different? Bear in mind also that just because a car is low mileage doesn't mean it is in good condition.

As for me being way over the mark take a look at the autotrader website, you'll find 5 or 6 McRaes for sale, and as of last week mine is the cheapest.

93k is nothing on an engine of this quality...people seem to forget that manufactureres don't build cars with the same crap components they did 20 years ago when everyone broke down all the time. Subarus are notoriously reliable so in fact its not the fact that the mileage is high that puts people of but rather the stigma that is attached to higher mileage vehicles....a car won't simply give up the ghost just because it hits the magic 100k mark.

anyway..not sure what my point is or was

bttt means back to the top, buy the way I think this car is priced well and its only a matter of time before you manage to sell, so stick at it.
