The usual scooby question - is this noise normal.
When giving it some and under full boost there is a strange noise when changing gear unlike any other car I've had.

Kind of a 'Shwoosh' noise when clutch in and then again when clutch out. Does this happen to everyone or have I got a cooked clutch?

I thought this when I first started giving my car some welly as it seems more apparent the higher the revs when ur changing gear. I reckon its something like the dump valve or wastegate doing its work but the more technical bods on here will be able to confirm.

Like you I was worried the clutch was knackered or that it was me changing gear badly but it happens every time when belting it.

Simon.

Simon,

Cheers - I wondered if it might be the dump valve etc..
It's just an odd noise which seems directly related to when the clutch bite or un bites. I too thought it was my duff gear changes but it happens no matter how gentle you are at high revs.

I think I'll put it down to the dump valve or waste gate and stop worrying (until my clutch goes bang!!)
