Do you have a UK car or a Jap/Euro one?

Don't know if it makes any difference really, but I can only comment on my own car.

I've a MY99 RB5 (exactly same as any other MY99 mind you) with an ITG air filter, TSL downpipe, TSL centre and STI back box. I'm running a std AE801 ECU with no other engine mods.

I refitted my std OEM 3-yr old cat centre last week a flew through the emissions tests. You can see the results for yourself here http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...hreadid=126912

There was nothing fancy done. I drove to the garage with my TSL centre still in-place, so the CAT wasn't even warm before it went back on the car. In fact it was freezing cold after being left in the car overnight The car was only left idling to get the engine warm (this needs to be done as part of the test includes making sure the oil temp is at least 80 degrees C).

Unfortunately, I'm in central Scotland otherwise you could've had my centre FOC for the MOT testing.

Stefan

There have been various threads posted which suggest that some cars can pass without the cat with some clever tweaking, like making sure the car is hot when the test is conducted etc.

Do a search, should prove useful.

You can't pass without a working car AFAIK.

MrProdrive, I've got a centre cat off my '98 - if it comes to the crunch borrow it if you want.
