If they were Gatsos and flashed you going towards them, then you wont get a ticket as I belive it's classed as dangerous to flash an oncoming car. Either way I have been flashed a few times going forward and never got a ticket.

It's quite posible the cameras were not live when you passed through previously, some of the Gatsos are live some are not it's a chance you take (they only flash when live and from what I have been told ones that flash you going forward are faulty). If the road is 30 and you have been traveling through it at 40 then it's going to flash you, only if it flashed you from behind as you pass it will you get a ticket.

i travel up and down this road all the time.
doing 40mph along the road all the time traveling in the direction these cameras are setup, with no problem at all. but for some season travelling in the opposite direction i get FLASHED twice in under a week but still doing 40mph.
does any1 know if i will get a speed ticket for this?
and where do i stand if i do?

Gatso near our work had everyone worried as it flashed going
towards it.
No tickets and it now has a cover over it (out of service)

So I think yours must be setup wrong

The trick is to get it to flash at you when you are traveling towards it and a BMW driver is on the opposite side of the road
