Tree Sap Removal
I parked under a freshly pruned tree last night.
My bonnett now has lots of large lumps of tree sap stuck to it, I used a hot water jet wash on it & the lumps just melted a bit, moved about and thats all.
How do I get this stuff off the car with out using 1 gallon of SUL & a match ??
I dont mind using some elbow grease I just want this muck off.
PLEASE HELP

I have the same problem, as I park under lime trees - no option.
The car has been waxed from new and I just use hot water and car shampoo.
To get it off, try hand hot water. Once off, wax it and you'll find it's no problems whatsoever to remove in the future.

Some sympathy as last week I drove through a spillage of gloss paint which sprayed up the side of the car and parked at a party over the weekend a large amount of candle wax got spilled on the car. Very hot water, shampoo and rubbing hard with a sponge seems to transfer most of the sticky gunge on to the sponge. A mild cleanse such as WW #1 will shift whatever marks are left.

You can get hold of mesh covered sponges now that reduces the amount of elbow grease required. + there not abrasive. Worked ok on my old White PUG and the copius amounts of suicidal flies on my scoobies bonnet.

Mark U - I use your clay bar to remove tree sap, the only thing that concerns me is I end up having to do 90% of the car (You'd think I parked in a forest). Am I stripping all the wax off each time I do this? Should I really re-cleanse and re-wax the whole car?
