Question

Hi all,

The scoob failed it's MOT yesterday as the garage did not believe me about pre 95' cars not destined for the uk market, not needing to pass the CO test.

I spoke to Pete @ Scoobysport about this and have also seen a few posts in the past. Can anyone help, re. some written documentation to prove this? Has anyone spoken to the DVLA about this recently??

All help would be very much appreciated.

Cheers,

Mossman

Cool

Mossman,

I have a nice Nissan Sunny on a H plate if you are interested. It has just gone straight through its MOT.

I wouldn't fancy your banger or any other Scoob as a part ex, though

I got rid of my Scoob and have never been happier

Scotty with a much more reliable car

John.

That link is not really relevant as it relates to SVA and you need MOT criteria which are not on there.

I agree with Dave, just go to a different testing station. Your car will not appear on the emissions test database so they will be unable to carry out a correct emissions check/test upon it.

When he starts reading out the different models on his system, just keep saying no. It won't be on there as it is an import.

Give me a ring when you get 5 minutes, (on an unrelated matter).

Mike.

mike,
you are right my link isnt 'really' relevant - but---
my logic worked like this,
im assuming mossmans car is a grey import and subject to an 'sva' test. the link states that only post '97 cars are tested for CO2 emissions, and therefore he could argue that his car is exempt the test for MOT purposes (or something like that )
perhaps he should buy that Nissan scotty offered him !
