which one do you think is best to get?

 

strut brace doesnt make much difference, quick shift equally so i think, save up and get something which will make the car look different or go quicker

 

got the exhaust and HKS mushroom. made my mind up on what to do on styling. just need money to spray.

 

will a sttrut brace not help a lot when going round corners?

 

well I was looking at one a while back and everyone was saying that the subaru has such a strong chassis that it wouldnt benefit from any more stifening, someone else is prolly best to comment, i'm new to subaru's in the last 2-3months but this is what i've heard!

yeah, went to a guy with a type r limited, apparently its very loud on there and he is very happy!

 

A mate had a strut brace on his my99 and said that it wasnt that noticable on or off.

 

I believe, from previosu posts, that it is of more affect on the earlier scoobs. & as an owner of a MY97 turbo 2000 i wood say front strut brace does feel tighter going into corners, although i haven't really pushed it yet it does still feel a bit sharper. Also recently dun quickshift & after the standard cr4p it is a much improved feel 2 changing gears, feels much more sporty & fun

One of the guys at the local motokhana has spent a bit on upgrading his suspension e.g. bushes, sway bars etc.. he hasnt got a strut brace... but boy does the suspension make a difference.
Spend ya money on that if ya wanna go faster round corners

 

IMHO there are very few things that can be done to a scoob for less than £250 that make it go quicker or "feel" different. Most of it is (IMHO again ) Placebo i.e I think therefore it is quicker/Louder/more responsive/ etc.

Hell if it actually worked, it would cost alot more i.e FMIC, ECU remaps, Complete Suspension change, Big brake kits, Hybrid Turbo's, Headlight conversions, Clutch upgrades, Wheel alignment (Dubious one that one )

Besides, summat has to keep the 3rd party boys in business

Not knocking the cheaper Mods by the way, but i reckon that everyone has got some mod or other on thier car and if during the night, someone came and removed it, you wouldn't notice that it was gone!!!
