Help Wanted to find Bigger Injectors
Dan speak to Nito from Nitosport...
Either click the banner add (top of page - just click loads of pages till it pops up) or give me a call and I will sort you the number...
He has just sourced some direct fit injectors and they are working very well.

Plantie - Thanks. I have already emailed him, courtesy of Andy Tang.
I have also spoke to Scoombymania, who (Shawn) was helpful, and can source me some Phase 1 injectors (direct fit) from Japan. About 2 week waiting list.
Just have to decide which ones to go for now. Not sure if 750cc will be a bit overkill, as 550cc sound a little bit more reasonable, and dont want to suffer with bore wash.
We are looking for around 380 - 400bhp, so 550's should be o.k along with an uprated fuel pump and fuel regulator.

Mad,
Are you sure Phase 1 injectors are a direct fit? I thought you had to modify the fuel rail - in fact I am sure you!
You will be getting to the top end of 550s at that power - 740s shouldn't give you bore wash unless you mapping is out - I have 740s and - yes - knowing what I know now would have got 550s - but it is fine - idles OK - not particularly rich low down. Currently at 70% IDC
- can't give you power figures due to a ****-up this week trying to get a power run organised!

Please tell me that you are running a remappable ecu?
if so, I dont see why you would worry about bore wash.
550s will be mroe than enough, but the crucial thing is the fuel pump. A lot of people thought that they needed 740s because their injector duty cycle was way too high but this was purely a poor standard fuel pump.

I have been told that the phase 1's will go straight on, without having to change the fuel rail, unless you fit phase 2 injectors.
We are running the Apex fuel and boost controllers, along with Cosworth .25mm oversized pistons, uprated Con Rods, Closed Deck Block, Uprated fuel regulator, GG Exhaust and downpipe, Tubular Manifold, uprated and modified oil pump, GT25 Roller Bearing Turbo, AP racing twin plate paddle clutch and a few other bits.
If I do need a Phase 2 fuel rail, how much?

if it is an sti 5, then it runs phase two fuel rails and phase 2 injectors. why would you need to mod it?
This engine sounds like it has some potential. Would be interested to see what it makes once done.
GT25 eh? nice unit!

Glad to see you are getting the car sorted! When will it be back on the road??? You should come down to the RR day at PE in October... should be a good en!
Adam... no mappable ECU.....
- definatley a worthwhile mod...

Mad,
an Sti V is a phase TWO engine - so you will need injectors that fit a Phase II fuel rail - or you need to modify the fuel rails.
However - things may have been mixed up - which block is it - if it is an STi closed deck block then it will be a Phase ONE - with Phase One crank and parts - this is becuase there are no Phase TWO closed deck blocks - other than custom made jobbies - and I have never come across one.
So I suspect that you have a Phase ONE engine - in a Phase TWO car - but which fuel rails? If they are the STi V ones then they will be Phase TWO.

PS Do you know how the AP Racing clutch is in use - I have been in a car recently that has a paddle clutch with a 1400kg clamping pressure - and contrary to popular opinion was as easy to drive and use as a standard Scooby
- if you are interested the kit is also cheaper than the AP one!

Sorry, I was typing too quickly, I forget to put the extra i in. The car is an STi IV, not a V.
I am not sure exactly what AP racing clutch is fitted, apart from the fact it is pretty lary, and can be very juddery if not released correctly. I havent ordered any injectors yet, but will be shortly, just have to decide which ones.
Plantie - The car is now on the road, as of this week, and am going upto DP Motorsport to have the car setup for me next Friday. We need to put 1000 miles on the car, and will have that done by next week, as have to travel upto Wrexham tomorrow, which will put about 500 miles on, and have already done 200.
I have had the front windows tinted, which looks good (35% visibility, as opposed to the backs which are 23%), which is the road legal minimum requirement.
The only thing I am not happy with is the rear diff whining, so will need to replace that soon, so if anyone has any contacts, please let me know.

trout,
depending on whether it started as a rebuild or they bought a whole new engine, you can fit phase two heads on a phase one block and viceversa,
what you cant do is put a phase 2 manifold on phase one heads without an adaptor plate and knowledge of how to get round the wiring issues such as stepper motor idle control.
