Are Subaru Imprezas pre 2000 fitted with any audio warning tones? Either I am being paranoid and hearing things, but I swear I can hear a "bleep" coming from the passenger footwell!! Its not loud but it appears to beep once on upshifts.

Has anyone got any ideas

Could be some kind of after market jobbie.
Remove the dash pannel under the steering wheel and have a butchers. I have a MY96 with so many noises now I think I might need a large ICE install.
