Cost almost 30 grand ten months ago! Now even the UK Importers won't offer more than £15500 trade in for it!!

Anyone else suffered the same loss?

Unfotunately tis why I didnt buy an import. Tried a dry run of what I would get in PX for an import before I got a P1 surprising how many dealers wouldnt touch one.

Added to the increased insurance costs it swayed it for me.

bl**din' unfair

Prices have fallen off generally as well.

Car Imports direct are offering an almost new jap spec STi for 20k so perhaps 15.5k isnt that bad?

Yeah, but is that before or after ESVA, CAT1 Alarm + Tracker, etc, etc.. Guaranteed the final price is alot more than that.

Just had a look around a few Importer sites and the lowest I could find for a Jap STi7 'on the road' was £26,995!

Yeah that stinks

But I reckon Wilf has hit the nail on the head. Assuming the single vehicle approval has been done (otherwise it wouldn't be on the road???), then a Cat 1 alarm could be added for say £350 and you can get RAC trackstar for £30 a month. The problem is the majority of potential buyers aren't serious enthusiasts. They don't understand the worth of any 'extras' that you may have added. If these firms can sell parallel import 'UK' STIs for just over £20K (new) then that is what the second market will use to judge prices whether yours is an import Jap spec or a UK STI - the market seems to make little distinction.

All I can suggest is keep the car and enjoy it, as there seems to litte that you can do to change the valuation.

Cheers Chris,

Unfortunately I'm being forced into selling it for various reasons. I'd love to keep it, there's no doubting that it is one amazing car to drive but it's a bit extravagant to have as a second car at the mo.

Maybe Elvis could have afforded to give his cars away to complete strangers but I'm afraid my bank manager is after getting his loan back!!

Looks like someone is going to get an absolute bargain.
