My MY93 seems to be "using" oil. It doesn't leak and doesn't smoke but when I last checked the oil it had gone from being max to dropping off the bottom of the dipstick but only needed about 1/2 litre to bring it back to max again. It took it about 6 weeks to drop this far, which was probably about 1500 - 2000 miles.

Is this normal for an older car?

p.s. Yes, I know, checking your oil every 6 weeks is stupid!

 

What oil do you use. I had the same thing with my MY96 on Mobile 1. I have changed back to Magnatec now and things seem ok (touch wood).

 

I don't know for sure as it was the oil that was in it from when I bought it. I feel an oil change coming on...
