Saw an interesting advert for the 2.0GX in yesterday's Sunday supplements - As standard - Morettes and High level rear wing - could this be the shape of things to come?

Could of course be a simple attempt to shift them before the 03 comes along!

Question

What's the latest on the 'Facelift' model expected at Paris Motorshow?

Somebody must know something? Have some pictures?

Had some mail from MRT in Oz this morning.....their quote...
"we can say the new look is not radical and is a simple cosmetic
change to enhance the frontal image of the car."
This info. they got from a Subaru source.

Cool

Here's the "Limited Edition Impreza 2.0 GX Sport". Details are on the Subaru Uk website. This could well suggest how the WRX may look.

I reckon it's a substantial facelift. Dealers are practically giving away MY02 WRX's right now - you can also purchase a fairly discounted STi with incredible insurance discounts from Subaru direct. IMO i think the spec of the car as well as power will be up slightly.

Local dealer tells me that the MY03 WRX will have a six speed box as standard. Other than that, just minor cosmetics front and rear.....

Talking to one of the busiest UK dealers on Saturday... they still have no real information apart from rumours.

If it comes down to Morettes and high level spoiler then Subaru have looked at the mods carried out by 90% of the owners and copied them!

I can guarantee you guys that up to today, the dealers know absolutely nothing about the new shape. IM have told them zip!!!!!

So anything you have heard is currently either dealer speculation, personal opinion or rumour....

Matt,

I bet the dealers wish they knew something, at least then people would stop asking them if they had heard anything about the MY03.

Just spoken to the manager of a local dealer - they know NOTHING of the new shape at all and anything is pure speculation / rumour. But he did say that they have been having real problems shifting their stock of MY02

There is a thread running the gallery concurrent to this one.

I noticed an mentioned it there that the "special" looks like an MY01... note the ariel on the piller. The MY02 had the ariel integrated into the rear windscreen!

Got this from an email from MRT

SNEAK PEEK NEW IMPREZA "MY03"

We have been closely monitoring feedback on many web forums including
our own.
Every picture we have seen we have sent to a "friend" who has either
confirmed or denied their
accuracy.

Current news from our "mole" in Subaru are that many of them are way
off target and are simple
mock ups by enthusiastic owners.

What we can say is when we are allowed we will have some pictures and
we will load them to the
web site, AND we can say the new look is not radical and is a simple
cosmetic change to
enhance the frontal image of the car.

Question

Is the face-lifted Forrester giving us a clue? It has more agressive lights than before, and you could imagine them on a WRX.

Just wondering...

I hear for the WRX that xenon headlights, 6 speed box and minor bodywork changes will be there. Power may be up a trivial amount, and better aircon. Price unchanged. This may well be bolox, and it has 450HP, and costs £8,500 for the STI for all I know...

Colin.

It looks like the MY03 is catching my MY01 up!

Sasman - A lot of dealers at the moment are selling less car than they would like. Not just Subaru BTW and remember we are coming up to the next number plate.
