Cambelt at 3 or 4 years
I have a MY00 registered in sep 99 and so the 3 year service is due soon.
I thought that the cambelt was due at 3 years but my m8 reckons that this changed for my00 models from 3 years to 4 years
Can anyone advise?

Supposedly its 60k or 4 yrs but id still stick with the 45k or 3 yr service as your cambelt change.
I think most dealers would go for the 3 year, not that its more expensive to you but just safer.

I rang IM and asked the same question - I have sept MY99 model not MY00 - they told me MY99 45k; MY00 60k - when I asked what the difference was they sort of went errr..... uummmm... thats what we recommend.
There is no differnce between my 99 /00 in the belt...
But lots of dealers still recommend the 45K change. Strange stuff.
But then again at 450 quid that doesnt suprise me either.

I assume you'll be doing it at Oakley garage. I just had mine done at Quenbys in Baldock and it cost £352 incl with free courtesy car and that was with a 7.5k service too. Cambelt was £100 and the labour to replace it was a further £100. Much better than I expected.

I'm right on the other side of beds - which mean Adams and mega bucks they quoted 450. Called TSL and they quoted 400 and that was with proper fsynth oil.
I have yet to call SS.
Either way its lots of dosh...
