Buying a scooby
You'd want mine. But it's not for sale.
As mentioned before, get along to a local meet of the Western cowboys and chat to them. You'll soon be friends and can have some company when looking for a "Scobby" sic.
Two Os one B. Rooby rooby rooooooo.

I'll be at the Tileys open day tomorrow from about 10.30 onwards. I'll be the big guy with a hangover in a Y-Reg P1Its not mine but my mate won't be bothered to drive it.I drive a 97 wagon and my other mate drives a 00 model saloon I'm sure between the three of us we can point you in the right direction (preferbly away from the EVO V1)

dont be disheartened with it. they are awesome. I wouldn't be on my second otherwise.
Imprezas start cheaper and you can have a lot of fun doing stuff to them, for not a "lot" of money.
plus the commuinity here on scoobynet is much much friendlier, aren't we chaps? (and chapesses!).

Watch out for running costs, i say this to all who want to buy a scoob (or evo as they only run on sul!)
These are not cheap cars to run, 100quid+ per corner if the car has 17's on or 80+ if not, servicing varies but can be as much as 4-500 quid
if not a little more, and its reccommended to service at the 6month, 7.5k miles if you still want power from the engine (and an engine!!)
Insurance is expensive and changes every month, extra security will cost you too (definately reccommended!!) fuel will cost you too, these cars dont get more than mid 20's on average per gallon (normal driving!) and depending on weather a uk or jap import super unleaded (but would reccommend it for both, definately for the jap or else you may be forking out 4-5k on a new engine!)
Mods will up your insurance, super chipping your car is not reccommended either (knock link or prodrive for those horses
) Its also a theives favourite
so you may have some sleepless nights to start with, just buy a clapped out heap and box the scoob in
Make sure that you tell your insurance co if the car is uk or jap import thou, jap imports do add quite alot to a policy
and there are quite a few dogs out there, sticking to a uk dealer car is the safest bet, also has a warranty with it.
Have fun though

Why do people do this? Why is always Scooby or Evo VI??
Only the P1 Scooby is in the same price bracket as the Evo, the standard ones are some £10k cheaper, yet everyone says Impreza turbo or Evo VI, or they say 01WRX or EvoVI
THEY AREN'T IN THE SAME SECTOR!!
Never understood why Mitsubishi never made an Impreza turbo rival.
