Option 1 but a version 5 would be my choice in sonic blue. The 6 doesn't come out in sonic blue.

Unhappy

Hi i bought an STI version 4 type R seven weeks ago from a specialist, and a couple of weeks into ownership a slight rattle developed and i told them,a couple of weeks later it was taken back for them to diagnose the problem, SHOCK HORROR big end bearing failure So they offered to repair it free of charge or give me my money back(well most of it)so i took the money.do you think i made the right decision.
My problem now is i feel hollow as my beloved scooby has gone and the UK PPP i part exchanged is long gone as well,so the dilemma is this
1.do i try and find another type R in sonic blue(weary due to the problems of the last one)
2.get a last of the old shape UK car(mmmmm)
3.or try and save a bit more for a New 01 frog eye scooby from Holland
4.or be totally sensible and get a GOLF GTI turbo diesel/or GTI petrol?????
5.or the last option is to find a clean Mitsubishi evo 5/6.

options are not necessarily in order

can't make my mind up

I'd have a go at option 1, if that doesn't produce a car then go for option 5.

If I were in your position, I think I'd have done the same otherwise I'd be forever paranoid about the car after it was fixed.

I'm impressed that the garage sorted you out - this could so easily have been a real nightmare story.

Have a crack at seeking another one out - perhaps try Iain at Litchfield Imports? Have it thoroughly checked out by a specialist, not just an RAC inspector. May cost you a bit, but gives you the peace of mind that you probably now lack
