Unhappy

Today, as I was travelling around the M25, I lost 5th gear. I drove more slowly and then suddenly "bang" something bounced under the car and disappeared behind me. I was recovered by the RAC and on inspection something had fallen out of my gearbox.

We spoke to Autosportif who helpfully gave us some advice. They said that I had lost the locator pin for the selector that serves 5th and reverse. They said I was lucky as this usually goes internally and knackers the gear box.

However, the pin cannot be bought. I need to:

a) buy a knackered gearbox and utilise the pin
b) or get the dimensions and have one made
c) get any info I can on the gearbox and its interior so that I can strip it and rebuild it.

Can anyone help with any of the above.

Cheers
A very sad Scooby owner
aka Steve

Cool

Good news. I spoke to Jim Childs at Cheam Motors (he helped me out before with trim clips etc.!!) and he said that he happened to have a couple of boxes in pieces with a transmission company and that I could tell them what part I needed and they could remove it and send it to me. He didn't even want payment.

Jim was so helpful to me before (especially as he works at a Scooby dealership) I can only suggest that anybody who needs a dealer in that area would struggle to beat the service that he has provided.

It looks as though I could be on my way to being up and running!!!
