Unhappy

I recently picked up MY01 from Holland and the chap said I need to do 3k miles below the 4K revs to run it in and the next oil change will be at 7.5K miles is this correct or was he making it up?

Hi,

I'm no expert, but all I know is that my MY01 WRX(bought from a UK Subaru dealer) had it's first oil change at 1,000 miles, and I've been caning it since! Never mind the dealer, RTFM (Read the fu***ng manual)!

Assuming you have one. In English.

My service book also has a stamp for 1,000miles, so check that too. Again; if you have one.

Good luck,

Scooby-dude

There's always been some confusion about this... Dealers don't change oil in Holland at 1000 miles at all.

There are rumours that a special running in oil is put in for UK markets, but I can't recall ever seeing this confirmed. (Dons flame suit)

Take it easy, drop the oil at 1000 miles, and start exploring the performance gradually beyond then.

You'll find that it loosens up a hell of a lot as you drive it harder
