lots of differences that you pick up over time.

most significant is the change in engine between version 2 and 3, and between 4 and 5.

cosmetic differences at the same time. plus there was a dash board change between 3 and 4.

I got most of my info from asking owners or people in the know, AFAIK there are definite differences between these models, but the killer is with any Jap import you "may" get extra options either added or taken away, for example there may be gearing differences, or a different type of slip diff, I "think" these types of things were all options on models such as Type R, RA, but not sure about standard STi, only way to check is look on the order form for the actual car you buy, and see what "bits" it came with......each car may contain something different.....
