Does anyone know how to remove the standard piece of kit,? and is it a re-badged Kenwood, and does it have a std 13 pin multi plug at the rear, i am not interested in upgrading just fitting a cd changer.
thanks Sandman.

Yup, piece of cake,

The nasty silver plastic surround has 4 clips, one in each corner, slip a thin bladed screwdriver between the silver fascia and the trim and basically prize it out, the whole lot comes out in one including heater buttons/dials etc.

Next step is 6 phillips screws holding in the double din cage, unscrew those and the whole thing slides out.

The Kenwood double din unit does not have an 'ISO' connector, but there are numerous ISO to Subaru connectors available.

I had my Kenwood (single din) installed on Friday along with Concept 600, then on Saturday the front of the stereo broke, so spent 20 mins in the afternoon fitting back the original unit whilst mine goes away for repair.

oh btw, it does have the standard Kenwood cd interchanger connection, so adding a boot loader is no problem
