Don't wish to appear negative but the insurance company could be well within their rights to refuse any payment. You better check the your documents and seek advice.

What if the SP30 notification was sent by post which is what I always do and they say they didn't receive?

no. 3 would apply, you have paid a premium for the car.

by law they can't tell you to F off but they can make you pay the extra premium from the settlement.

if you were banned however they can tell you to F off

same applies to mods and you have an accident,they can't void your cover but they can demand extra premium from you

Phew - so if they get crappy cos they lost the posted notification
then I might just be looking at a relatively minor hike in premium
