Shell optimax and emissions ?

Optimax will burn more cleanly and efficiently in your engine than other UK petrols. It doesn't contain the heavy constituents found in other petrols which leave dirty residues in the engine. It can also restore your engine's performance by removing performance-sapping deposits that have already accumulated in the engine airways.

It is an ultra low sulphur fuel and meets the current agreed 2005 specification standards for emissions.

I got this from the shell website and wanted to know if anyone has had experiance of de-cated cars getting better emissions test results because of this petrol.

I would imagine the measurable emmissions differences with Optimax will be very slim, if detectable. It certainly won't help you pass an emmissions test if you've decatted your car

It has the same stuff in it that Redex does. And so really does the same job.
So possibly not good to use permanently.
