hello chaps,, well ive finally did it after all these years looking ive bought a blobeye wrx sti uk type form ebay for 10k eBay item number:157586097550
after having owed 2 classics ive decided to go full on sti
i was just wondering what you guys think? have i had a boo boo or will i be happy with my new purchase
the car has passed every mot and has not had one single advisory in its life( to good to be true)?
i know its a cat s but that really dosnt put me off at all just need to contact a dealer to confirm if it was fitted with the PPP pack
10k for narrow track Sti is to much, cat S should be even less
Hello,
Why You did not ask before purchase?
Did You check it for rust? Mainly sills and rear end behind and under rear bumper, inside a boot, rear subframe etc
Front to ,behind front bumper
Looks like paint started bubling on driver side rear arch close to a bumper.
Personally i would buy widetrack and non cat S for not much more

ive not paid yet only left a deposit and will be checking it over when i get there on sat ive owned as couple of classics to i know where to look and ive done a ton of research online on the blob eye shape.
theres no mention of rust on any mot's so that must be a good sign
the chap said theres no bubbling on arches it must be a refection in the pic but ive already asked for new close up pics
i looked into wide track ones but the feeling i got from posts and research you can have trouble with the dccd which put me off a little
Never heard of dccd issues on widetracks, have mine 6 years and im sure its not common like headgasket on 2.5l
Even if there are than on the market are plenty of them taken apart for parts, not to expensive to replace them
Ok good You know where to look for rust.
Still would go widetrack for not far more me thinks,it has nicer interior etc
I would go jdm sti,it should be clean underside ,You can swap headers turbo and exhaust with upipe for singlescroll if You after UK burble ,it has one piece jdm manifold ,big port heads, better drivetrain where You hit 60mph in 2nd gear and it revs to 8k

First thing i noticed from picture.
Almost every UK newage scoob with 70k miles will have rust issues.
Thats mine 70k miles subframe, jdm sti in UK from new.
For some surface rust but i put new one.
Go widetrack and jdm, forgot to say UK blobs front lights are very poor. Jdm comes with xenons,Yes You can swap them but it will cost and better to go jdm route even if it costs 2-3k more than above narrow track sti.
Jdm sti comes with quick rack steering, used one costs approx 400 quid plus labour, new approx 1100 quid.
