Default 1998 UK Turbo - Brake Upgrade

Hi All,

I've got a 1998 UK Turbo Impreza, that I am keen to upgrade the brakes on.

I see Godspeed has a 330mm kit, with new Brembo Callipers

New Impreza Godspeed 4 Pot Kit With 330mm 2 Piece Discs and Bells - G Hook and Bolted.
https://godspeedbrakes.co.uk/product...bfc26986&_ss=r

The rear I have some queries on, to balance it out, do I go for the 290mm discs and WRX callipers with associated bracketry, or the STI gold rears?

Additional to that, is the 1 1/6" brake master cylinder up to the job of pushing the pistons without a soft pedal?

Many Thanks,
Neil

You could be limited to their discs with above kit.
People buy it looking for cheap options but he adapt discs from some source.
For example he can not do it in 362mm as no one makes cheap source he can adapt where fuji racing has high carbon racing discs and use forged alloy for calipers with floating discs.
Shame they stopped making kits. Just few rears left.

Thank you, Fuji does have some very nice products.

I could end up with a Reyland kit at this rate (I've used them before for a track car and the APs are arguably better).

We have curved vane race discs in most of our kits now , It's Reyland that machine road car discs to fit , we offer loads of sizes , if we get enquiries on a size we don't do , there's a good chance we will start doing them.
The 330mm disc we offer in this kit is an AP copy , which loads of others can supply , 330mm x 28mm , 12 hole fixing on a 203.2mm PCD

For value for money , that 330mm kit we offer with Brembo 4 pot calipers is unbeatable , 330mm x 28mm curved vane race discs , billet bells and brackets , Brand new Brembo 4 pots , and a choice of pads , mostly DS2500 for £999 , with a fully floating option disc and bell for £100 more

Thanks for the info, I have emailed you a week or so ago with these queries.

I've no objections to using your discs at all.

Re the rears, would the 290mm discs and brackets to mount the gold Brembo two pots provide a balanced set up?

Any issues with a soft pedal etc?

The DS2500's were used as an example because they are still a very popular pad , not with me as I prefer more bite
all the manufacturers make this shape pad , we keep the newer EBC range , PF , CL , can also supply mintex , pagid ect , a lot of people have a pad preference , so stick with what the customer likes then

The 290mm discs will fit with the Subaru 2 pot calipers , which is what most go for on a classic , and will offer a good balance , as long as the master cylinder is working fine , there should be no difference in pedal feel.

I fitted the 316mm rear discs and Brembo 2 pots on my GC8 , and even with 365mm AP 6 pots on the front , if I have the DCCD set on the lowest level it will just lock the lears under hard braking over our mountain road , putting the DCCD on the second setting stops this , would do it more if I had a 330mm front kit

We have just had another batch of brand new copy rear calipers , so we can powder coat them to match a front kit , and supply you full bolt on kits for the front and rear
Cheers Ian
