After shutting off the car, the interior lights automatically turn on. I do not like this behavior and want to turn it off. The manual says that I either need to use the navigation unit or go to the dealer. My car does not have a navigation unit and I don't want to spend $xxx on this problem.
As per your owners manual the interior lights are programmed via the Body Integrated Unit (BIU) and their operation programming can only be altered using SSM (Subaru Select monitor)(unless you have the Navi unit)
However both the cabin dome light and the trunk light (if 4 Door) have an OFF position switch as shown on the attached pdf file and mentioed in the Owners manual.
@Don Clark ill just piggy back of this post but do you know what the generic spec is for the dome bulbs? 09 impreza. was looking to replace them with led units but struggling with exact spec to cross check for festoon bulb - basically the length
