Hi All, In the middle of freshening up a 95 V2 WRX, And after stripping everything down for powdercoating / zinc plating we have found a strange issue (didn't pay much attention to this bit during stripdown).
The issue is in the 4 main outboard bushings, where the bolt has a lot of play side to side, almost like they should have a collar or some sort of top hat washer, but these weren't there before?
Anyone got any ideas?
Attached some pics below, they are all the bolts / washers.
AFAIK - the play in the bush/bolt combo allows for fitting alignment. The bolt torque used (127 +/- 20 Nm) being sufficient to keep the subframe from moving.
The middle hole of the three is where the factory mating dowel would go through when the car was put together.
It is also used for the whiteline (and others) rear subframe lock bolts.
