Looking for some tyre suggestions as i dont really understand all the talk about sidewall progression and dont drive the car on the limit anyway.
I've currently got uniroyal rainsport 3's that have gotten quite worn at the back and theyve been OK in the 12 months I've owned the car, I don't really push it hard in the corners anyway.
They are currently 205/50/16 and quite like the fatter tyre look in the rim. Which tyre do people recommend? Preferably all year round tyres as I don't keep a winter set
Not really answering your question, but an early change on my 98 car saw the 16" wheels swapped for 17".
The saving on the first new set of tyres paid for the wheels.
I've used Toyo T1 R or T1S since getting 17's

I prefer the smaller 16 with the chunkier tyre tbh.
I had toyo t1r on my old bug that had boxster rims on and I can't complain about them tbf, were a bit loose in the wet but could have been the rear end on the beetle
