Glws. You're bringing in some well priced hatches. The back box is the Sti option, now discontinued. Facelift front bumper too

What's with the 2 rectangular black things either side of the central reg plate mounting on the front bumper?
Additional (unnecessary) air vents?
They look rather Heath Robinson and homemade whatever they are.
