Default Fuel pressure reg

Hi all , ran into issue on recent mapping regarding fuel pressure ...

I have Rcm parralelle rails and fpr but didn't come with gauge then car was originally set to 2.5bar but as no gauge fitted on mapping the chap ran into issues.

Hes asked if I can fit a gauge to the fpr

Now Im guessing that I need to somehow drain the system of fuel before I fit the gauge?

Am I correct if so how easy is this to do

Number of ways to do it but best done when cold. If you slack any of the pipes on the fuel filter and let the pressure release slowly. If you leave it for a couple of hours there probably won't be any pressure anyway.
