Default Interior trim colour changes

Hi guys seen a couple of pictures of people changing the strips by drivers side ignition, and the strip on the passenger side, just wondered if anyone knows do they just pop out and isn't that by the airbag?

These are the ornament panels and you show an image of a US LHD car with the cherry red version (S209 ?)

The LHD and RHD panels are not interchangeable as they are "handed".

They are held in with a number of push clips which can be accessed from the rear of the panel
To aid removal removal of the passenger side, remove end cover of instrument panel and maybe glovebox (LHD shown)

For UK/Europe MY15-17 the WRXSTI sported carbon effect or carbon mesh items

The MY18 UK "Final edition" has piano black finished items

In Japan you can get the S207 and S208 Cherry Pink versions but only if you own said car

S207

S208

Then again you can always take them off and paint them.

Wow thanks again Don! I was little bit worried about damaging an airbag trying to pry them out. I considered spraying them but didn't want them to look bad after! Just thought could look nice if done properly :-)

In theory you should be able to start removal by accessing through the end cover as per the passenger side.

These are JDM accessory versions in "Ultrasuede"

This was the easier option and cheaper! Just a little difference...

This is probably one you again Don, how do you take out this panel (picture) as i saw a video on YouTube and the guy had to really pull it hard to remove and thought there must be an easier way? I want to remove that piece to then unscrew and remove the top cover to get to the alarm led to put somewhere else...

The important bit I think:NOTE:

Lightly push up the back of the cover center UPR, hook the finger to the end portion and pull it toward you to remove it

Yeh thanks Don, I've seen few videos now where people get cable ties in between the holes and pull!
