Default VF35 turbo

Just had to source a second hand vf35 turbo to put in the WR1 as the bearings went!
just wondering is it worth sending to get rebuilt ? Is there any upgrades to be made to it while doing this ? And where is best to send this too for best results and price ?

there is a chat on Facebook called Craig bellworthy that does rebuilds for around 350 ,, dont get a cheap core as I had one the lasted about 100 miles before it went again ,, he can also do a billet wheel upgrade on the vf35 aswell but this would need mapping to suit of course , think its another 100 for the billet wheel

I've not used that particular chra, but I have bought bearing kits and wheels from turborebuild before, and they were great (Mellet branded stuff)

Why did it fail? And why can't you claim under warranty after 100miles?

I can I just have to get it off first and take it apart and then send it back ,, but judging by there response its going to be a fight to get my money back off them , I could be wrong but I just have that feeling lol ,,, dealing with Criag will be loads easier if anything did go wrong

but at most they will prob offer to replace it and do I really want another one of there turbos if the first one lasted that long lol ,, cars completely standard aswell so not exactly pushing it to its limit lol

not sure why it failed if im honest so will see once its off

And these answers are interesting do I pay £600 to have my original turbo rebuilt and billeted and fit on the car and then send other vf35 for rebuild and billeting and have as a spare or buy a mdx555-400 for £1400 or an sc38 for the same and have a slight upgrade and a knackered vf35 sitting here 🤔🤷🏼‍♂️🤯

I'd be interested to know when / if you get it off as I said, I've only had good experiences with their stuff, but I've only bought bearing kits and turbine + compressor wheels, not a full chra.
