I’m going to have my sump off shortly to reseal.

Are any worthwhile things to do whilst it’s off? Are the RCM or KillerB baffles and pickups worthwhile on a road car that may see mild track time.

I don’t really want to go as far as spending 6-700 on this on trick sumps so are there any value for money worthwhile things or should I just reseal it and forget about it

Those kind of jobs are best done with the engine out on a stand, although I'm sure someone will have done it on stands in the driveway. ( the pickups, not the sump itself)

The Fuji racing stuff does appear good quality and well priced compared to the alternatives so I think I’ll give their baffle and pickup kit a go.

The engine is currently out of the car and on a stand so no problems there.

 

bear in mind that the baffle plates are a 'sticking plaster' in real terms and not anywhere near as effective as a properly baffled sump..............

also not sure how a number of slots cut into a metal plate creates anything 'ultimate' ??

the likes of the baffle plates that have the rubber flaps installed will offer a slightly better solution at keeping the oil in the sump rather than the plain metal 'slotted' type ones but only offer a small improvement IMO, the likes of the "suction adaptors" that help stabilise the pick-up pipe we find are a decent addition and will do a small amount at trying to keep oil at the tube which is ultimately what most of these plates fail at.............

a properly fabricated "grpN" style sump is not that much more in the scheme of things but will actually work

I guess the main thing is talking to suppliers that actually offer the correct advice and product??
