Hi all really struggling to get my brake system bled, have changed the master cylinder and 2 front callipers.

car is a 1994 sti with no abs so 4 ports on mc, we have been bleeding for several hours trying different ways

3 pumps, hold, bleed and tighten and release and also hold pedal loosen nipple then pump several times, hold pedal and tighten nipple.

no matter how much we have completed this we are still getting bubbles and no pedal.

pedal has no resistance unless pumped but then if you release and leave for a couple of seconds no pressure again?

any ideas?

we have been working from furthest away from mc with the engine off.

 

Issue with master cylinder, have you blown seals inside somehow?

 

def not the master cylinder it’s new, was not pumped at all untill full

but the servo wouldn’t generate air in the system would it? Or if the servo fails the brakes would undoubtably be poor and correct me if I’m wrong but it doesn’t have fluid in it?

 

Loosen bleed nipple put finger over hole pump pedal till no air with finger on nipple tighten then on to the next one. Then see how you get on. Maybe have to repeat. No comments about health and safety please

totally lost me mate must be having a blonde moment?

 

Slacken nipple put finger on it do not remove get someone to pump until no air, once no air nip up then on to the next one. Obviously keep an eye on reservoir.

 

Gravity bleed.

If you still have air in the lines then you have a leaking union somewhere in the brake system.

 

Might be a daft question..
you have fitted them the right way round. I.E bleed nipples at the top..

 

Have you checked you have no leaks elsewhere in the system? Had this issue on a motorcycle once when the piston seals in the caliper had gone. Right PITA to sort
