Its been a while since i sold my classic. After owning it for a good 5 years i thought it was time for a change, either a blob or a hawk, although i have heard many bad things about the 2.5..
I am not looking for something to modify to silly power, but a second toy that i can mod up to 350 max to be honest..
however i am looking for something standard, possibly a wrx sti blob.. as for a hawk, i am not sure whether to gamble a 2.5..
Does anyone have any advice, best places to look?..
Spec-C Blobeye the best base for mid level tuning that is practically already set up....where To find a good one?...Thats the trick really!...Just keep your eyes peeled on Subaru forums recommended car selling sites even face book groups the odd one or two pop up now and then.SJ.
Had a look at these, not bad, but i reckon i can get a cleaner one for the same buck.
i had a look on autotrader, some decent ones on there...
i wont be able to purchase anything untill this lock down is over..which sucks as i would like to have one for the summer..
i understand mate, it’s a fantastic feeling going to look for a new Subaru. The only thing that pi55es me off is when travelling hours to view a car only for it not to be as described but in a negative way
that’s just a quick look on eBay whilst I’m chilling in work
check the wr1 as its missing quite a few bits from it ,,, no Brembo brakes , no WR1 interior ,, so prob missing other stuff aswell ,, if you dont know exactly what your looking for you could miss stuff
finding a decent blob for 6-7k will be a hard find these days to be honest as most will need work at that price and others will be snapped up by the breakers lol

completely agree mate, maybe a standard high mileage one but there a 06 widetrack for 7500

I brought a widetrack a couple of months ago for 6500 but it needs the front panel under the rad replacing and a couple of other bits doing but ill be selling that on once im done with it so it might be of interest to you but im not in any rush to get it done at the mo lol
Wr1 has been doing the rounds for ages, wrong brakes, no fogs, wrong gear **** etc. Avoid like the plague. The widetrack could be worth a look. I had my wr1 on autotrader before Covid for £8500, but I didn’t realise I only had 6 weeks mot left which probably put people off. Might put it back on after, but I’m not sure I want to sell it anymore.
I sometimes toy with the idea of selling mine, Black Blob WRX, 57-58k, full Subaru service history, I’m the second owner, just had cambelt and oil service. Stock bar wheels, subtle cat back and RCM gear ****. Would be after around £7.5k probably. Was my daily when I first bought it, nearly 400 miles per week on it of boring roads and traffic was just a waste of its low mileage, so I retired it from daily duties, plus I work as a Paramedic Practitioner for a GP surgery and I wasn’t a fan of using it for home visits! Absolutely love it, but it see’s little use now and with a track car and a Defender camper to finish, I do think of moving it on, but then I drive it again and forget about that idea and thus go in circles!
The wr1 was on here years ago. The story was that it was getting repossessed by the finance company and the guy stripped it of all the good stuff including the 6 speed before the took it off him.
@Aaron Perry - looks like a tidy ca, but i think that price is a little of, i think you'd get 6k to 6.5k but hey like you mentioned, it would be an enjoyable wait. Can you PM me some more pics of it please? interior, engine bay etc...spec list, if possible.
Love the enjoyment of searching for an impreza..i will be sure to be back in one this year. but depending on the lockdown i think it will be late this year or early next year.
