Default Intermittent loud rattle and vibration

Has anyone any ideas please? 2003 WRX Wagon. Sudden, intermittent very strong vibration and loud knocking sound over 35 mph.

Can feel it through the wheel and pedals and the whole vehicle. It's quite violent and loud and feels like I'm driving on a corrugated road.

At first I thought I'd blown a tyre. It has happened about 6 times in the last 2 last miles of driving.

Could it be a CV joint?

What have you checked?
Have a good look round all the wheels and drive shafts as a first start.

Turns out the bottom wishbone has rotted through. Lucky it didn't collapse completely until at a garage where it broke.

There was a recall done on these - mine was done 2012 so they won't do it again.

Independent garage can only find the part through the dealers. Does anyone know where I can buy on please?

Front, right hand side, bottom wishbone (steel not alloy) 2003 WRX Wagon.

Would they be a direct fit and do the 2002 ones fit a 2003?
