Any ideas. 11 months ago I fitted Godspeed j hook discs and pads all round to my Brembo calipers. No problems but the last 2 weeks now hearing a humming when braking , does this mean new pads already ? Only done 4K miles in that time? Any ideas?

Check the rear pads. Mine develop a lip at the top edge that caused a humming noise. The lip gets dragged onto the top edge of the disk and make them resonate. I just file it off until it comes back again.

 

Some humming on braking when running grooved discs is normal so may be the same with j hooks, are you now braking harder? Is there any loss in braking performance?

 

I agree with this statement too. If really loud just check rear pads for a lip. My grooved disks hum to a degree but the rear pads when the lip is big enough make the whole car resonate it seems, probably amplified in the boot.
