Default Stereo swap - jdm to uk

I am just about to pick up a 2001 jdm sti and can't stand the idea of having to listen to radio 2...

If I wanted to replace the stereo with one from a UK blobeye or hawkeye;
1- will it fit into the fascia?
2 - will I need anything other than an ISO adapter?

Thanks

1 yes
2 no (I don't think you'll even need one)
3 stock Subaru stereos are hopeless - buy something aftermarket instead

In that case, I have a UK 2002 Bugeye stereo available just down the road from you.

Blimey. That never happens. Normally the helpful person lives in Aberdeen.

What do you want for it?

Annoyingly I have just won a stereo from a blobeye on ebay. I will try to get that fitted, if it doesn't work or looks/sounds awful I would happily pick your one up for £30.

Sorry not to have got in contact earlier.
