Unhappy

I've just tested one of my coil packs (MY96 WRX) across the conector pins and got a reading of 1.3 ohms. I believe it should be approx 0.7 ohms - so I think it is duff. However, I cannot get any reading between the pins and the spark plug contact at all. This should be about 13.8 k-ohms.
So :-
1. Is it recommended that I change the pack due to the 1st reading?
2. Why can't I get the second reading?

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Ian

Ian,

Have a read of this thread - http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...D=74077&Page=1

Tried the testing myself & couldnt get a reading as you say. You should check your meter first for a reading as described by Scott in the thread.

Yes you're right - my meter reads about 0.4 ohms when when the two probes are connected. This brings my readings down to about 0.8 - 0.9, - very close.
Still can't get the reading from the plug connector though??
Cheers,
Ian

I don't think anyone can get the plug contact to connector reading.

I think the workshop manual is talking Bull, cause it's also wrong for the knock sensor. It says approx 540 ohm, when infact it's nearer 540K ohm.

Scott, I think it's bollox to. I've now borrowed a "good" coil pack, which I'm swapping with mine one at a time. Seems a bit of a chew on though in this day and age!

Dave, what are you talking about?

Scott / Ian,

Agree with that definetely! I've checked a good few including come friends & not a peep out of the meter. For the frist two I thought they were shagged & started to worry! Then it was the same for all & friends ones as well.
