Hi guys. I have a 1998 Type R with DCCD.

Recently noticed a rattle/whine/clicking on deceleration at around 2500rpm. Most noticeable in 2nd and 3rd. The slightest press on the accelerator instantly stops the noise. This is common to all settings of the DCCD. Engine and gearbox oils are clean and good levels.

I think the noise is getting louder but cant be too sure. It seems to be coming from the box/centre diff area.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

 

I have the same and I think it's the exedy pink box clutch. Soon to be in the bin..

 

I have the same on a normal wrx 5 speed , exedy pink box , my knock link is hitting hard also ..
