injector cleaning fuel additives????

Hi all, do people reccomend or stay away from these? I know prolonged use can have a detrimnetal effect on rubber o rings etc... but once a year? i used to use an STP product b4 but wasnt too sure how the scoobies react to such products...
any info apprecaited...

dont sell optimax in southeren ireland, not too sure if they have it up norf yet either?... feckin SUL is rare enuff!!! any other suggestions peeps?
