Hey guys , recently brought myself a uk2000 turbo , running alcatec ecu , vf48 turbo , and all the trimmings .
You probably knew this was coming , but my 5 speed has given up! (No surprise)
Any alternatives to the 6 speed conversion ? I.E is there another 5 speed I can use that is stronger than the uk2000 box, or is there a aftermarket gear set I can replace the standard ones with ?
Looking for some advice
Thanks guys
You've opened a can of worms there boss more possible combinations there than I care to think about. Cost would be the deciding factor and what you use the car for. Six speed conversion for most people but which ever way you go it'll be 2k+ to upgrade.
if u got cash a ppg set up in 1st and 2nd gear 2500ish . or if u don't have the cash u could buy my ty54 box for 150 exc delivery. works well except 3rd gear synchro rattles sometimes during changing. its a very strong box holding 350 tourqe. but to answer your above question ty54 is toughest. extra 2 bolts and harder bits inside.
