Default XL Tyres or not ?

Hi,

Just recently got back in to the Subaru World, picked up an MY2012 STI Type UK with the 340R Pack installed. Currently the car has four Dunlop Sport SP600 tyres fitted which I don't think will last through winter, so I'm going to replace them. I'm looking at Good Year F1 Eagle Asymmetric 3's, but not sure whether to get XL or not. Difference in price is negligible by a couple of quid, but was unsure whether or not they would upset the car in any way.

Thanks for any input.

I'm probably wrong but I thought XL can be better if your driving harder as you will get less tyre wall flex.

Load rating has no influence on a tyre's stiffness.

Thanks guys, bought the regular wall tyres. By the way in form of a short review, they are pretty good in wet and great drip in the dry, however the rim lip on the Asymmetric 3's isn't as good as the previous version.
