Goodridge. Been around years.

RCM recommend them - they fitted fronts and rears when they fitted my AP brake kit. Not sure if they're zinc coated ones, though.

I assume the zinc ones are still s.s. (but with a zinc coating)? Not sure what the zinc brings to the table, TBH?

In isolation, in back to back tests, subjectively, I doubt you'd notice any significant difference in feel. But the s.s. sheathing can only be a good thing re. keeping the max. hydraulic pressure in the system, right up to the back of the piston, where it matters. Plus, the metal sheathing will obviously help to protect the inner hose from the elements, stones, etc.

Do the rear lines, too!

As otherwise, they will then become the weak point as regards keeping as much pressure in the system. I.e. it'll be a half-baked job, if you don't.

After all, as you say, it's not an expensive mod.

Indeed, was gonna mention that, too.

Regard it as preventative maintenance.

I also have a 1999. STi 5 saloon in white.

The stainless or zinc choice usually refers to the finish of the ends (the braided part is always stainless in the ones I have seen).

Just one thing - you say "Goodridge variety" - just make sure you get a quality brand, as then you know the internal rubber lines are decent. Who knows what is in some of the China specials....

PPM on brake lines, not sure if upgrading is the correct term but certainly changing my brake lines just because mine are dated and the car had been sitting for a while.

Zinc coating is only used on the steel fitting kits and is similar to std factory spec in that it will discolour and suffer from surface corrosion whereas the Stainless Steel kits are exactly that............

we have supplied Goodridge kits for years and are probably the best on the market IMO

I have goodridge hoses on my bugeye and they are great. I had one fail due to me not being careful when doing some work on the car and it started to rub on the suspension. That was 7 years ago, I replaced the hose and have been more careful when moving things. I also fitted a set of goodridge hoses to my Renault Scenic and what an improvement.

We have used Hose Technik for many years now and never had an issue with them , they are made by Forge motorsport in the UK , come with all stainless fitting , pipes and even new stainless banjo bolts and copper washers , the pipes have a plastic coating over them to protect them further.

We have supplied all makes over the years , and we find these the best , best quality , and best to deal with

We sell the kits for £75 , have an offer on at the moment with 1ltr of Brembo Dot 5.1 high performance fluid free with every hose kit

Cheers Ian
