Question No gearbox speed sensor

Hey guys just a quick one, does not having a gearbox speed sensor fitted affect performance? I can imagine it may through not sending signals to the ECU but I lack the knowledge to know for sure. I ask because the car doesn't feel as lively after a gearbox change as I haven't got round to fitting a sensor, just hoping there isn't something else going wrong

p.s. I have a 2001 Bugeye WRX UK-spec

See I thought it would do that but she still goes up to the limiter, speedometer doesn't work obviously. She just seems a bit hesitant when you blip the throttle.

No idea then bud , it will rev passed 4500 if stationary etc , but when driving can you go passed 4500 ?

I run a classic with cable speedo so maybe the later electronic speedos don't limit if not working ?
