checking blades on a td05

Default checking blades on a td05

Hey, with the td05 being top entry is there anyway of checking if the blades are fine and play in the shaft, I'm a noob at this so If its a silly question feel free to giggle before helping me
I don't have the turbo looking at sellers pictures its obviously tough to check

Take the compressor housing off. It's held on with a big circlip at the rear of it. Needle nose pliers will get it off.

Thanks 👍 wiggling the wheel from the back of the turbo will that show play in the shaft or not?

Yes, on a TD05 there will be some side to side play as its a journal bearing turbo and this is the clearance for the oil. The blades shouldn't touch the housing though. And there should be no in and out play.
